How does USA Shopper work?

  • Regular Membership: Every time a person visits your web page that displays a USA Shopper member banner your account receives 1 credit(s). Your account is charged 2 credit(s) everytime your banner is displayed on another members webpage. (Note:Credits have no monetary value).

  • Preferred Membership: Every time a person visits your web page that displays a USA Shopper member banner your account receives 2 credit(s). Your account is charged 3 credit(s) everytime your banner is displayed on another members webpage. (Note:Credits have no monetary value). When you display a banner and someone clicks on it you will receive 5 credit(s). All new accounts are started as Preferred member accounts. As long as you follow the Preferred membership rules you will keep your status.

  • Another very powerful feature offered by USA Shopper is banner clickpoints. This function allows you to have multiple url locations associated with each banner. A person clicking on one section of your banner will be sent to one url (Web address) and if they click on another section of your banner they will be sent to another url. You can create a Powerful multi use banner to take advantage of this function. You can have several banner clickpoints on each banner.

    If you decide not take advantage of this function then when a person clicks on your banner they will be sent to the URL (Web Address) you specify on the signup form.

  • What instructs the computer to display the banner is HTML code. You do not need to be a programmer to put this on your page. All you need to be able to do is insert the HTML code we will provide you with. Most text editors such as notepad or write in windows can handle this with the copy and paste functions.

  • Your banner should be 468 x 60 pixels or about that size. After you fill out the setup form you will be E-mailed easy instructions on how to get us your banner. Mean while if you put the HTML code on your page you will start building credits immediately after filling out the setup form. In addition your receive 500 credits just for signing up.

Target your banner with categories

  • We have developed a very sophisticated multiple categorization method to assure your banner is displayed in the right places to the right people. Your credits won't be wasted on sites that have no value to your business or web site. We have been told by many members that no one else has such a program on the internet. You can target your banner by:
    1. Age (Children under 18, Adults over 18 or the entire Family)
    2. Country (USA, USA & Canada or Outside USA .)
    3. By category:
      Pets, Internet Games, Free Stuff & Contests, Health & Fitness, Hobbies & Crafts, Business Websites, Personal Websites, Sports, News, Network Marketing, Recreation, Music, Religion & Cultural, Travel & Vacations, Computer Hardware, Computer Software, Science & Technology, Gardening, Finance & Money, Arts & Modeling (no nude), Education & How To, Movies & TV, Internet Shopping, Advertising, Employment.
  • In addition you can target your web page/web site the same way. If you don't want to display certain categories you simply un-select that category and it will not be displayed on your site. The same for age and country.

Do you have any other benefits?

  • We start all new members as a preferred member account. This gives you extra banner displays and extra credits for following the rules. Be sure to read preferred members in order to keep your preferred status and what to do if you lose it.
  • Your banner will be displayed until your credits are exhausted. Once this happens your banner will be idle until people visit your page. When they do credits will be added to your account and your banner will be displayed again.
  • Of course you will want to track:
    1. How many people visited your web-site from other members pages.
    2. How many times your page displayed a banner.
    3. How many times your banner was displayed on another members page.
    4. Your banner display/click-thru ratio for each banner and total overall.
    5. We will send you via E-mail this and other information if you wish by simply placing a check in the Email check box. Also, you can get "up-to-the-minute" statistics on your account too.

  • As a paid supporter of USA Shopper you can have additional capabilities.
    1. You will be able to define what hours you want your banner displayed.
    2. Specific rotation additions.
    3. You will be able to set the number of banners you want to display each day. This number is divided into the number of minutes in the day so you will still be displaying a banner at 11:45PM.
    4. Nightly Emailed reports.

Two very common questions

Q) Can I use the banner from USA Shopper in another banner exchange program not related to USA Shopper ?
A) The banner is yours to do with what you want. Your banner maker and you must determine who owns the banner.
Q) Can I use my banner from XYZ's banner program on USA Shopper ?
A) The banner is yours to do with what you want. Your banner maker and you must determine who owns the banner. Your banner must be 468 x 60 pixels and 9216 bytes in size.. The banner must be resized to fit our requirements

Why are we doing this?

We believe in the "We'll help you if you help others" principle. In other words you help us advertise other members on your web page(s) and our free service. We will help you advertise your web-site.

We do have a few rules.

We strive for quality not quantity. If your goal is to join this program and place the HTML code at the bottom of your webpages, just to get free banner exposers. Do not even fill out the signup form. The HTML code must be placed in a position where people will see it.
  1. The Banner HTML code must be placed near the top of each webpage where it can be seen by people entering your webpage. (i.e In the browser window without scrolling). We will routinely check all websites. Sites which do not comply with this requirement are subject to reduced or no display credits without notice.
  2. Webpages that our HTML code appears on must have some content not just banners. An excessive number of banners on any webpage could cause our CyberRobot to place your account on hold or cause termination.
  3. If you use the remote banner function the server you deliver the banners from may not use cookies. If it does our robot will place your account on hold immediately. Repeated violation will cause termination.
  4. Every webpage(s) that displays the HTML code can not have a Meta Refresh tag of any kind in it.
  5. The webpage(s) that the USA Shopper code appears on can not be password protected. Our robot routinely checks web pages for validity.
  6. No Sexual, Porno or other Adult related materials will be accepted our CyberRobot will terminate any webpage with profanity or nudity of any kind without notice. If our robot misses a webpage and you see nudity, you will receive 5000 free banner displays for reporting the webpage to us. We must be able to verify the webpage first.
  7. Your banner information must be acceptable to the masses. Most all banners are. However, we reserve the right to reject any banner.
  8. No advertising of illegal activities. (under the laws of the United States of America)
  9. We require your address. We must protect ourselves. This information is used in communications between you and us. We have never sold names and addresses. We have never used member names for mailing lists other than member notification of program changes, news and enhancements. Invalid addresses will cause immediately termination.
  10. We reserve the right to reject or terminate any account for any reason.
  11. Any account not used for 10 days in a row will automatically be subject to termination.
  12. Anyone caught using a banner rotator for the purpose of increasing credits will have there accounts terminated immediately. It is unfair to other members.
  13. If you ever leave USA Shopper or are terminated you agree to immediately remove the USA Shopper HTML code from all your webpages.

If your browser uses cookies you will NO longer see that annoying "Do you wish to allow this cookie to be set?" prompt that you must click OK or Cancel. We did not take the quick and easy way out when we created this program. We have spent a lot of time writing programs which do not require this annoying browser function.

Here is a sample of the HTML code you will put in your web page. (Do not use this example) How do we determine whos account is to be credited? You see the account number U100000 below. You will be assigned a similar number for use in the HTML code of your web-page. All the HTML code will be in the cut-n-paste form that you can use any text editor to put it in your web-page. You will receive a copy of it via E-mail with the correct account number after you signup.

If you want to track your statistics as a combined total of several pages or your entire web-site you can use the following method with just one account number.

In the code above you should see two lines with colored lettering. This is a sample account number (Your account number will normally be there). You will only need to edit those two lines for this method (One account # on several pages). Shown below are the important parts of the HTML code for this method. The lines are shown before and after editting. Not only is the sample account number shown in colored lettering but also the change in the HTML code.

From the example above you see how the procedure is done. Now, if you have more than one page you will change the /01/ to /02/ or /03/ .... /50/ and so one. Be sure to use a two digit number.

Your banner will start being displayed to the public when you have the HTML code in your web-page.
